Tips and Tricks for Joomla 1.5

Uploading Quicktime Videos |
|
By default, Joomla doesn't allow you to upload Quicktime videos. Quicktime videos are files with a .mov extension. If you try to upload a Quicktime videos, you will get an error that says unsupported file type.
To fix this, you have to set Quicktime files as one of the allowed upload file types. Login to the admin area and go to Global Configuration. Next, click on the System tab. Under the Media Settings section, find Legal Extensions (file types). This is where you tell Joomla to allow Quicktime uploads. There are two types of entries in Legal Extensions, uppercase and lowercase. So, you have to add the Quicktime movies twice, once in lowercase and once in uppercase. Type mov and MOV into Legal Extensions (file types). Make sure each of your entries is separated from other entries by a comma.
