Idea Machine is a family owned and run business. We believe in moral and ethical business practices, and we offer you a level of trust and attention that the big guys cannot.
Christian Smith, Machine
Have you seen the "White and Nerdy" video on youtube.com? (If not and you
appreciate Weird Al, this is a must-see.) Christian is far more handsome, more
fashionable and more athletic, and I'm biased since he's my husband - but you can check a lot of
those nerdy traits off his list.
His main role in Idea Machine is maintaining the nuts and bolts
behind the websites we’ve created. He also
seeks out software solutions to keep our clients up-to-date with Internet technology and trends. He is also the alpha dog in the
family – helping Kerri stay focused and keeping Samson in-line.
Christian graduated from Penn State University with a degree
in English. It’s true: a geek with communication skills!
Kerri Smith, Idea Machine
Kerri is the idea supporting the “machine.“
I graduated from Grove City College in 1999 with a degree in
Business/Communications. I got my first
taste of sales in 1996 when I decided that I was going to sell knives during
college. My parents thought I was crazy;
I loved the thrill of the sale.
My first “real” job was as an associate editor for a construction
trade journal. It wasn’t called a “sales”
job, but day in-day out, I called on architects, engineers, project managers and
municipal officials to convince them to give me information about their
construction projects.
From March 2003 – November 2006, I worked in business to
business inside sales for a website software company. I got so tired of having so many lousy sales
months that I started to really educate myself on sales, marketing and
networking. It worked! So many people were
contacting Christian and me for consulting help at the end of 2006, it made sense to focus full
time on Idea-Machine.
Samson, Dog
Corporate mascot and inspiration for logo
Samson likes running fast, treats, his toy squirrel “Zippy” (real squirrels
live outside and they are his enemy), squirrel hunting, shredding paper and
tissues into small bits, socks, and sunbathing.
He graduated from puppy kindergarten and obedience school in 2005,
although he’s far better at tricks than being obedient.
Accomplishments: sit, stay, roll over,
heel, We Are Penn State cheer (we are… bark bark!), and the sneaky swiping of
food, socks, and tissues.
